Award-winning master storytellers will be featured at Molokai Public Library

Molokai Public Library will welcome two master storytellers on Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.

Award-winning master storytellers Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo and Nancy Wang, who have performed at the inaugural celebrations for both President Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama and at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., will be the featured artist at selected public libraries during the months of October and November in celebration of Teen Read Week (October 14-20).

As members of Eth-Noh-Tec, a kinetic Asian-American story theater company based in San Francisco, they will perform “Asian Treasure Bag,” modern and traditional folktales from Asia through the spoken word, theater, dance and music. They have won the Circle of Excellence Award from the National Storytelling Network and the Parent’s Choice Award for DVD and CDs.

Eth-Noh-Tec will perform “Asian Treasure Bag” at 10 public libraries on Oahu, Maui, Molokai and Kauai.
